Marriage Requirements


You need to apply for a Wedding Licence at the Registrar Generals Department and the law requires for both of you to be in the Bahamas at the time of application. There is no minimum term of stay required and you can get married the day after your arrival. Non USA residents need to swear an oath that they are single in front of a Notary Public. Documents needed are valid passports, birth certificates and a picture ID such as a driving licence. Your plane ticket or passport stamp is also necessary to confirm your arrival day.
