Getting married in Montenegro is fairly simple as long as the necessary paperwork is in place. Many couples choose a combination of a civil ceremony and religious. A couple looking to have a civil wedding will first need to register their intention to marry with the Civil Registry in Montenegro. They will need to have valid passports, full birth certificates, a certificate of non impediment together with a document showing they are free to marry. If they have been divorced or widowed they will need certificates to that effect. It costs around €40 to have a marriage ceremony at the Registrar's office but for an alternative venue it can be anywhere between €400-1000.
