A Licence form and form of declaration needs first to be collected from the Ministry of Justice. The Licence form is then submitted to the Stamp duty and Transfer Tax Department where couples will also need to pay JM$4,000. The form of declaration proving marital status needs to be signed by a Justice of the Peace and then these documents need to be returned to the Ministry of Justice. Documents you will need to take also are certified birth certificates showing your father's name, and a letter of parental consent if under 18. If you've been married before or widowed you'll also need to take along a divorce certificate or a death certificate.
