Getting Married in Hong Kong

Hong Kong recognises both civil and religious ceremonies to be legally binding. Whatever type of ceremony a couple want they will have to give written notice of marriage to the Marriage Registry and this must be done at least 17 days prior to the intended wedding date. Both parties will need the following documents: proof of ID (passport/ID card), certificate of marital status, details of their current occupations, birth certificates, full names of both parents, proof of address and registration fee.
