Getting Married in Cuba
There's nothing more romantic than getting married on a tropical island and Cuba has something to suit the most discerning couple. From themed, to splashy, to exotic to quiet, there's a myriad of settings all ready to host your wedding ceremony. In an island full of stunning vistas whichever way you turn, there's plenty of locations in which to host your reception and weddings abroad in Cuba will be unforgettable.
All you need to get married in Cuba is a valid passport together with a tourist card (available from airline, Cuban consulate or travel agent). You'll need to get Spanish translations of your birth certificate as well as any divorce/marriage/death certificates and certified by a Notary Public before being legalised by the Cuban Consulate in your country. List on a sheet both full names and addresses, education, occupations together with full names and nationality of your parents and attach the photo page of your passport to this. Fax all of these details as well as copies of relevant documents, both in Spanish and English, to your destination hotel at least three weeks prior your arrival. Make sure you bring all the original documents with you. The Marriage Certificate will be given to you soon after the wedding and will be legalised by the Cuban Foreign Affairs department and the Canadian Embassy in Havana.
