If you're looking for a wedding destination that offers an endless choice of picturesque scenery and dramatic back drops for your wedding photos then why not consider Australia. Situated in the south Pacific, Australia has a plethora of places to host your wedding, including the Sydney Opera House, a chapel in a rainforest, or a sun drenched beach, as well as plenty of traditional churches. With a myriad of hotels, beaches and gardens, in which to host your reception party, couples planning weddings abroad in Australia will surely be spoiled for choice.

Marriage Requirements

The law calls for you to file a Notice of Intended Marriage to a  fully authorised marriage celebrant within 18 months of your intended wedding date and not any later than one month and one day to your wedding date. This can be lodged from overseas provided it has been witnessed by either an Australian Consular Officer or an Australian Diplomatic Office attached to an embassy in your home country. Alternatively you can use the services of a notary public. You need to send the form to the marriage celebrant or your wedding planner once it has been signed. You will also need to take an original of your full birth certificate together with a 10 year passport, which has at least six months left to run.
