Getting Married in Antigua & Barbuda

Situated in the east Caribbean Antigua is the sunniest of the islands and is surrounded by coral reefs, natural harbours and tiny inlets. One of the easiest of the Caribbean islands in which to get married, Antigua is a popular choice for many couples and there are plenty of churches, chapels, or beaches in which to hold your wedding ceremony. Weddings abroad in Antigua are romantic and memorable and with plenty of wonderful hotel resorts with stunning sea views, you will have a good choice of venues in which to hold your reception.

Marriage Requirements

It is very easy to get married in Antigua and all you need to do is visit the Ministry of Justice with your passports and completed documents. There is a registration fee of US $40 which has to be paid at the Courthouse and the fee for a special marriage licence is US $150 with a marriage officer's fee of US $50. You need a valid passport, a signed declaration that you are in fact single, and also a picture ID such as a drivers licence or State issued ID. Both parties need to be present to sign the application for a Marriage Licence. An ordinary licence can be granted if one of the party has been residing in Antigua for at least 15 days otherwise you can apply for a Special Marriage licence often on the day that you arrive.
