Looking good on your wedding day doesn’t just happen overnight. Clued up brides will have spent the previous six months getting ready for the day by looking after their body wisely and possibly changing their beauty regimes. With this in mind, here are some pointers.

Leading

Take Regular Exercise and Eat Healthily

Most brides like to lose a few pounds before their big day, but going on a crash diet a couple of week’s before really isn’t a good idea. You may lose the pounds but you’ll end up feeling lethargic and zapped of energy. Instead make a conscious effort to eat more sensibly and combine this with some regular exercise, whether it be walking to work each day or going to the gym.

Drink Lots of Water

Start drinking plenty of water as this will hydrate your skin and make it look clear and fresh. It will also rid the body of any impurities.

Have a Facial

Treat yourself to a couple of facials and massages to help you relax and unwind during this stressful period, but make sure the last facial you have is about a week before your wedding day, to give your skin a chance to settle down again.

Prepare Your Skin

If you don’t already, then get into the habit of regularly exfoliating your skin with a body scrub that you can use in the shower, followed by applying plenty of body lotion all over. If your face is looking dry then start using a rich moisturiser each day.

To Tan or Not to Tan

If you’re thinking of having a false tan for the wedding then have a trial run beforehand, You don’t want to look unnaturally dark. If you’re out in the sun then take care not to get sunburnt rather than bronzed, as red blotchy skin is not a pretty sight.

Waxing or Plucking

Your eyebrows are crucial to your wedding day makeover. You need to decide on whether to have them plucked, waxed or threaded and make sure this is done a week before the day. Also, any other body or facial waxing needs to be done no later than 5 days before your wedding, in order for any redness to fade away.

It’s All in the Eyes

False lashes can look exactly that — false! So if you want some extra impact on your eyes why not consider having some eye lash extensions. They look really natural and will open up your eyes creating a great look for your wedding photography.

Choose Your Perfume Wisely

Finally, take care when choosing your perfume. Try out a couple that you like prior to your wedding to check how long they linger and whether they are overpowering or not. Whenever you wear the perfume again it will bring back memories of your wedding day.
