Jen Byck
Is it wrong to use a wedding pic in your profile?: Yes, yes it is. But she just doesn't care.Jen Byck, editor extraordinaire, currently lives with her very silly husband in their very own IKEA showroom in downtown Toronto. Although she resides in the Centre of the Universe now, she will always consider herself to be an Albertan - right down to her Grade-A beef, crude oil-soaked, PST-free heart.
When she isn’t plugging away as a freelance writer and communications consultant, she enjoys relaying her personal humiliations on her blog, espousing the virtues of non-profits, watching a little too much TV and deluding herself into believing that using the Wii is a good substitute for the gym.

Why John Hughes Matters
I was so not impressed when I first laid eyes on the prom dress Andie Walsh made for herself in Pretty in Pink. Having been given an adorable '60s gown from a friend, Andie busily worked her supposed fashion magic to make it her own. After a brief build-up of anticipation via classic Hollywood montage, the creation was revealed: while the neckline had some promise (for a doily), we find Andie proudly standing in what can only be described as a pink, frumpy, calf-length bag. Talk about anticlimactic. It was, however, perfectly real and perfectly John Hughes.
