Shannon McKarney
Shannon McKarneyShannon is a transplanted Nova Scotian, now living in Ottawa, but who hasn't lost the ability to dismember a lobster with her bare hands. She is currently creatively unemployed, but has had past lives in tourism and software, where she carried out tasks as diverse as technical support, sales support, training and management. Shannon and her husband own a Beagle named Beagle, which belies their level of creativity. Her passions include blogging and other writing, cooking and, by extension, eating, window shopping (which will be upgraded to just plain shopping once she has a job), reading diverse blogs/magazines (both paper and online) and other publications, and finding new and innovative ways to reincorporate the nap into everyday. When awake, her expertises include building and sustaining online communities and working with social media. Shannon also has a keen interest in environmental issues, and in particular greening up our everyday lives, which inspired her to create ecochick - the Canadian environmentally friendly shopping blog for green chicks. To see more of Shannon, you can also visit her personal blog at ThreeSeven.
