About Hitched!
Hello and welcome to Hitched!
The Toronto Party: We Launch in StyleI'm excited to be relaunching this magazine after over four years of online insanity. It's been a busy few months of rethinking and rebranding and redesign (and harassing poor project managers and programmers about the content management system), but it's finally come to fruition. Since its inception in May of 2003, Hitched! has looked pretty much the same. As of August 20, 2007, it's been revitalized to reflect the changing lives of its membership.
In these last four years, Hitched! has become home to an amazing community of nearly 2500 users. The forums have brought women from across the country together – ranging from academics to stay-at-home moms to scientists to corporate planners and everything in between. These women have shared their lives on this site - from changing careers to getting through divorce, from giving birth to losing loved ones, the community has become a national adventure.
Women in cities across the country have talked on the site, met in reality, and become friends for the long-term. The women of Hitched! often comment that they can go anywhere in the country and they'll always find another Hitched! member to show them around. Hitched! girls are the type who like the debate as much as the gossip; who like the pub nachos as much as the Chicken Provençal; who like the Winners as much as the Holt's.
The community is what makes this site. Post-wedding and beyond, Hitched! girls aren't the smug marrieds you know and despise. Smart, savvy, and interested in so much more than their husbands. The magazine content is driven by members of the Hitched! community. As much as these women are different in goals, professions, situations, aspirations, and lifestyles, they are consistent in a few key ways: they are smart, they are savvy, and they are interested in talking about the world around them. At length.
So welcome to the new and improved Hitched! I hope that you enjoy what you find and that you get a chance to get to know the women who drive the site in the forums. Thanks for stopping by and have fun!

Love
